About SSC GD Constable Exam

General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 marks)

This section covers Analogy, Similarities and Differences, Spatial Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, Verbal and Figure Classification, Arithmetic Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Coding and Decoding, and Statement Conclusion. General Knowledge & Awareness (25 marks)

Questions cover awareness of India and its neighboring countries, Current Events, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research. Focus on CAPF-specific GK, border states and their facts, important national parks and tiger reserves, and recent government schemes related to defence and security.

Elementary Mathematics (25 marks)

Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals, Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, and Basic Algebraic Identities of School Algebra. Questions are of class 8-10 level.

English / Hindi (25 marks)

Tests basic language skills. In English: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms, Antonyms, Spelling, Idioms and Phrases, One Word Substitution, and Comprehension Passage. In Hindi: similar topics in Hindi language.

Physical Efficiency Test Standards

The PET standards vary by gender and category. Male candidates must run 5 km in 24 minutes. Female candidates must run 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes. Ex-Servicemen have relaxed standards. Prepare for the PET by starting a running program at least 3-4 months before the exam. Begin with comfortable distances and gradually increase. Focus on building stamina rather than speed initially.

Physical Standard Test Requirements

For male candidates: Height of 170 cm (160 cm for candidates from hill areas, North-Eastern states, and specified tribal areas), Chest unexpanded 80 cm with 5 cm expansion. Medical Standards

Eyesight is a critical medical requirement. Distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 in better and worse eye respectively without glasses, or 6/6 corrected with glasses where the spectacle power does not exceed plus or minus 2.5 D in any meridian. Colour blindness disqualifies candidates. Overall health must be good with no chronic diseases or conditions that would interfere with duties.
